About the Course

Learn fundamentals of Bharata Natyam, South Indian dance, one of the main forms of Indian Classical dance. With easy to follow, step-by-step instruction, this course is designed to guide anyone to learn and practice Vedic Dance and enjoy its benefits. The beautiful and ancient art of Indian Classical dance increases mind-body coordination, provides excellent exercise, and nourishes and strengthens the whole physiology.

In this course, you will
  • Learn and practice adavus, rhythmic, geometric patterns of movement which are the basic units of pure, abstract dance
  • Learn and practice a short expressive, storytelling dance choreographed to a verse from the Vedic Literature
  • Practice hasta mudras, hand gestures, which have a healing, balancing influence on the physiology and are part of every dance movement
  • Connect your experience of dance with Maharishi Vedic Science, the Science of Consciousness, and enjoy tapes of Maharishi on dance therapy, art and music, and yoga
