What is Maharishi AyurVeda?

Maharishi AyurVeda is the comprehensive and modern formulation of the world’s oldest system of natural health care.

It emphasises prevention and focuses on the relationship between consciousness and health, including techniques to increase stress tolerance and overall well-being through evidence-based personalised self-care programs, including the practice of Transcendental Meditation®. Ayurveda originated in India, with texts dating back more than 5,000 years. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “The Science of Life.” Ayur means life, and Veda means science or knowledge.

In Ayurveda, any disease is considered to be caused by an imbalance of the three basic organising principles of physiology, the three Doshas. Maharishi AyurVeda recommends specific lifestyle interventions, including diet, herbal preparations, daily routine and stress management. A holistic multi-modality approach is applied to create balance between mind, body, behaviour and environment.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Ayurveda

The Maharishi College of Perfect Health International (MCPHI) offers the opportunity to study Maharishi AyurVeda on a professional level at an accredited university, Alma Mater Europaea ECM, in Maribor, Slovenia.

The certificate of this part-time distance and in-residence study programme, issued by Alma Mater Europaea, qualifies health professionals to integrate diagnostic and therapeutic modalities of Ayurveda into their medical practice.

If you are not a trained health professional and would like to benefit from this profound knowledge, please don’t hesitate to contact us at professional.training@imavf.org.

What you will learn

You will learn the basic principles of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment protocols for common diseases.
You will also be trained in the ancient art of Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis, which has been revived and refined to become a practical diagnostic tool for the health professional. This unique method of pulse reading is called Maharishi Nadi Vigyan (knowledge of the pulse). It not only detects balanced or imbalanced functioning of the physiology influenced by diet and daily routine but also by the environment, and thereby can reveal diseases before symptoms arise.
This postgraduate training provides you with a complete package to take your practice to the highest level of effectiveness for your patients.
