Pranayama
Feedback from previous course participants

The structure of the days and the whole course, the design of handouts, slides and video materials … everything is on a professional level which makes my studies pleasant and smooth. The richness of each day and the way of conducting the classes … it is a complete joy. I noticed that since we started the course my whole program it is a blissful experience every day. Thank you!!! – L.K.

I feel much stronger & more flexible in my body plus my understanding of yoga has increased so much since I started the course. – A.L.

If I had to express in two words main aspects of this extremely professional structured and taught course : it is profoundness and wholeness. Profoundness in understanding Maharishi’s elaboration on the Philosophy of Yoga, on Ashtanga Yoga; profoundness in the way all Asanas are taught and profoundness in experiences – holistically contributing to my minds and body’s refinement, integration, growth, and health. This course really transformed me in depth… my understanding, my Yoga practice, my awareness. – C.J.

Most Frequent Q & A

“Digital In-Residence” means that the daily routine is just like that of an on-site “In-Residence,” but in a digital format. We meet in the morning, afternoon, and evening on Zoom for practical and theoretical lessons, and will watch a video tape in the evening CET. This means that participants must be available for the digital in-residence section from June 15th to June 22nd, 2024, and from September 5th to September 12th, 2025. For all sessions attendance is mandatory. No other fixed dates. We also expect personal participation in the Live Calls, which take place once or twice a month, although there will likely be recordings available.

Maharishi AyurVeda health professionals can become Affiliates of the IMAV Foundation (International Maharishi AyurVeda Foundation), pay an annual fee, and then receive several benefits, such as reduced course fees for almost all courses organised by MCPHI. Here you can find explanations about the Affiliate status: https://www.imavf.org/registration/levels/

All practical exercises are structured in such a way that adjustments, props, and assistance accommodate all individual physical conditions.

Phase 2 is quite well described on this website. All course participants teach 60 hours of Maharishi Yoga Āsanas (for example, they can teach the MYA 16-lesson course, teach MYA in centres, on WPAs, etc.). It is a practical application of the knowledge gained up to that point. The course participants arrange the practicum personally in their country/city, but they have to be able to provide proof of the hours.
Additionally, all participants will work through a certain number of anatomy and physiology videos (material will be provided) and write a 30-page thesis on a title that is given to them. During Phase 2, the MCPHI will provide literature references for specific and defined yoga texts that should be read.

Phase 1 includes instructional and practical tutorial videos, which will be uploaded on a website and can be viewed at times convenient for you within a set timeframe. However, you have to submit assignments on time for each session.

For the bi-weekly workshops (about an hour each), attendance is desired but not mandatory. There will be recordings available. They are likely to take place on Mondays.
